What is your athletic background, and how did you get involved with lifting?

I danced from age 3-11 and stopped dancing when I got more involved with sports. I played volleyball through sophomore year in high school, but I continued playing soccer all through college on a scholarship. It wasn’t until after having my second child that I really got into lifting and fitness. Prior to that all I ever did for lifting was whatever we were required to do for soccer or what I had to do in physical therapy while rehabbing ACL reconstruction I’ve had on both knees and right shoulder surgery.

    What keeps you motivated?

Being an example for my children, for other women and for my clients to live a healthy active lifestyle, achieve their goals and live their best life. Also keeping my body healthy and youthful. I have had 6 orthopedic surgeries and 2 c-sections and the more consistent I am with my nutrition and exercises the better my body feels all around, the more energy I have and let’s be honest…the nicer I am.

Who’s the most inspirational person in your life?

My father. Growing up he always worked hard, started his own very successful business, attended all of my sports events, and always had so much love to give. He taught me incredible work ethics and great family values. He recently battled prostate cancer, but never once wavered in his faith, but rather he faced it head on and never let it break his stride.

What is the most common training question that people ask you?

How much time do you spend in the

    gym.

I spend 35-50 min in the gym 3-5 times a

    week .

    I do all

    hiit

training. I currently do not do any other type of lifting. I really utilize my nutrition to achieve my results.

Funniest thing you’ve seen at the gym recently?

My kids trying to use the TRX. I own a hiit gym and my 5 and 6 yr old love to play in their like its a jungle gym. They put their legs through the TRX straps and swing from it. Best part is when they can’t get out.

Who do you look up to in the fitness world?

I would have to say Paige Hathaway. I love how she carries herself, she is goofy, she’s real, she shares her struggles and challenges as much as she shares her results and victories.

What are some of your favorite motivational quotes?

“For things to change you must change. For things to get better you must get better.” -Jim Rohn.     “Don’t wish it were easier, with you were better” -Jim Rohn.    God is within her, she will fail Psalm 46:5.    “80% nutrition 20% fitness”   “You don’t get in life what you want, you get in life what you are.”   “What comes easy doesn’t last and what lasts doesn’t come easy.”

When did you realize that health and fitness was your passion?

After I had my incredible results. I was an athlete growing up and always loved sports, but I didn’t get into fitness, as in going to a gym, until after I had kids. When I went to the gym I loved the way I felt. I loved the feeling of accomplishment and I loved the community of people that I met. I got into health/nutrition around the same time. I was struggling to lose weight and I began working with a health coach who worked with me on my goals and provided a nutrition plan along with incredible supplementation. I was so inspired by my own results (I lost 30 lbs, 15% body fat and was in the best shape of my life after kids) that I wanted to help others achieve the same success so I made it my career. I’m blessed to be able to do the same for other and have helped hundreds of people get results through my personalized nutrition plans.

What is your favorite cheat meal?

    Pizza and donuts

What gives you the best results when trying to get lean?

I found that supplementation with Herbalife nutrition products

    have

given me the best results. They provide my body with incredible nutrition, vitamins

    and

minerals, but keeping calories low. I love the shakes because they taste like milkshakes and I don’t feel like I’m depriving my sweet tooth. I incorporate many of the Herbalife product into my daily routine and they have given my incredible results. The thermogenesis tea, the digestive health supplements, the stimulant free fat burner and others. But the most important part about getting lean is eating enough to compliment my workouts and sustain lean muscle mass and Lowe body fat. I eat 6 times a day which has kept me leaner than when I ate only 3 times a day and I work out less, I just eat the right portions and the right foods.

Workout music – what’s on your playlist?

It depends on my mood and type of workout, but anything upbeat. I love a variety of music including rock, some metal, alternative, hip hop, rap and pop music.

What is the most challenging thing you deal with about consistently staying in top shape? A busy schedule, always being on the go and having parties and events. I am ALWAYS prepared with healthy food and water everywhere I go.

  • Jennifer Schreiber

In your opinion, what attributes does a successful fitness model need?

I feel they need to have a certain level of credibility which means they have to lead by example, practice what they preach and be a positive role model to the fitness community. To me it’s more than being just a fit body or a pretty face, it’s about giving back. It’s about inspiring others to live their best life. It’s about helping others through their health and fitness journey by giving them hope, understanding

    and

motivation through your own journey. It’s about sharing your nutrition and fitness routines, your struggles, your success so others know you’re human and the only thing that separates you from someone who hasn’t yet achieved their goals is commitment and consistency.

Favorite activities and hobbies you enjoy when away from the gym?

Any sport, playing with my kids, hiking, going to the movies, eating 😉

What are your future goals, dreams, and plans?

My life goals are to have a massive impact on the world. To change people’s lives by providing the best nutrition and business opportunity. To serve communities around the world in any way I can; building homes and churches, proving nutrition and education. I also want to empower women around the world to love themselves and that by loving themselves no matter where they are at in life and in their journey that they will be able to give so much more to their families, to others and live their best life.

what is the number one philosophy you live by?

“Leave people better than when you found them.”

What does your current supplementation plan look like?

I use strictly Herbalife Nutrition products. They are the #1 nutrition supplement company in the world and are a seed to feed company with the best quality and taste from everything I have tried. I use the supplementation to fill in the gaps that I don’t get through whole foods. I use the protein in my oats in the morning and I do a meal replacement shake at night for dessert. It’s a great way to satisfy my ridiculous sweet tooth and get a protein packed snack. I am addicted to the herbalife tea which is thermogenic (burns calories just drinking it) and the aloe concentrate together. I typically have 1-2 glasses of tea a day. I take a variety of Herbalife tablets including: multivitamin, omegas, cellular activity, calcium with Vit D, and more. I use the Herbalife24, the athlete line, for my pre workout, during workout and post workout. I use the protein bars for snacks because they’re amazingly delicious and convenient. I also use the fat burner at times, which I love because it’s stimulant free.

What are your favorite 5 muscle building exercises and why?

    (1) Squats- they are such a great foundational exercise for your legs and there are so many variations you can do. (2) Planks- My absolute favorite core exercise because (if done correctly) you build strength and stability in your trunk, shoulders, hips and there are many variations you can do to increase the shoulder or glute work during a plank. (3) RDLs- these have given me the tone in my hamstrings and glutes. (4) Rows- I do a variation of these from on the TRX, on the rower machine, bent over with DBs. These are great for maintianing good postural strength and balance in upper body musculature and give good definition in your upper back. (5) Wall Balls- I have a love hate relationship with these. I love these because they work shoulders and legs and are great for increasing cardio while working out.

What body part are you most proud of?

My abs, especially after having 2 babies via c-sections.

What is your greatest achievement so far?

Fitness related I took 1st place novice and 4th place overall in my first all natural figure competition and I’ve placed in 2 other bikini competitions. Business related I opened a group fitness hiit gym 1 year ago and it has grown into an incredibly successful gym with the most supportive, inspiring environment. Seeing my vision come to life is a major achievement. But aside from those concrete accomplishments just seeing the many lives that have been changed through the good nutrition and business opportunity I provide has been the biggest blessing and accomplishment.

If you could interview one person alive or dead, who would it be and why?

Mother Theresa. I would love to get into her brain and see her mindset and passion for everything that she has done. I am inspire by her massive heart, her selfless ways and the amazing amount of love she has spread throughout the world.

If you could give all of the readers out there your 5 best tips for staying in great shape while juggling a busy schedule what would they be?

    (1) Meal Prep (2) Get a coach, you’ll need it when times get tough they’ll get you through it (3) Give yourself some grace, you’re human (4) It’s 80% nutrition 20% exercise (5) Find you why- the strong your why, the more you can overcome your excuses.

Do you have any gym, pet peeves?

When people talk more than they workout

What’s a sport or event that you would LOVE to try?

Kite Boarding. I am an avid snowboarder and have a love for adventure.

What are the contents of your fridge?

Chicken, Ground turkey, flank steak, salmon, rice, quinoa, sweet potatoes, lots of vegetables (mainly green beans, asparagus, zucchini) lemon and lime juice, almond milk, Herbalife products galore, fruit, all kinds of vegan cheese/cream cheese/yogurt because my son is dairy free. Glad you didn’t ask about my freezer because then I’d have to admit to the mint chocolate chip and snickerdoodle ice cream haha.

What is your favorite healthy food?

I am such a creature of habit. I love ground turkey, white sweet potatoes, a green veggie and avocado. I am not a good cook so I like simple lol. But

How do you prepare a meal?

Do you make a bunch of healthy recipes or is it just boiled chicken and asparagus every day for you? I meal prep usually on Sundays and Wednesdays. I like to cook a few different protein sources (ground turkey, flank steak, fish), a few different veggies and I stick mainly with white sweet potatoes. Every once in a while I will make a fun healthy dish like a chicken thai zoodle dish.

  • Jennifer Schreiber

What does your current training split look like?

Currently I only do high intensity interval training (hiit) 3-5 times a week. I hit upper body at least once, lower body at least once and a total body conditioning at least once. On a very good week I will get 6 days of training hitting twice of each, but I typically, on average, only get to workout 4 times a week. I focus more on my nutrition and recovery with my workouts to maximize my results since I don’t a lot of time to spend in the gym.

What’s your favorite body part to train?

LEGS!!!! Without a doubt leg day is my favorite!

Which do you prefer, and why…steady state cardio or H.I.I.T?

I love hiit training. It burns the most amount of body fat in a short duration and continues to burn long after you’re done.

What 3 exercises have contributed the most to building your physique?

    (1) Squats. I do a lot of variations of squats including squat jumps, 3/4 squats, sumo squats, regular squats, squats with added bands, etc. (2) Planks. I love all forms of planks and I like to get creative with them to target different sections of my abdominals, shoulders, glutes. (3) RDLs- these really help tone my hamstrings and hit the upper hamstring and glutes.
